Rinnovo Certificato SSL vCenter Server

mi è capitato molte volte di imbattermi in dei vcenter che andassero in scadenza naturale del certificato e questo porta al disservizio dell’intera infrastruttura vcenter

se non si ha a disposizone un backup file per ripristinarlo e ripartire (soprattutto se abbiamo configurato vDS o Resource Pool particolari o servizi dipendenti dal vCenter) possiamo tentare il ripristino tramite questi comandi

innanzitutto andiamo a controllare se e quali certificati sono scaduti con il comando

questo dovrebbe portarci la lista di tutti i certificati pesenti sul vcenter ed evidenziare quelli scaduti

se abbiamo il certificato STS scaduto, prima di rinnovare tutti i certificati dobbiamo rinnovare il certificato STS:

impostiamo i permessi di esecuzione e lo avviamo

all’avvio ci chiederà di inserire le credenziali di SSO (es. vsphere.local) una volta finito chiederà il riavvio di tutti i servizi

service-control --stop --all && service-control --start --all

una volta finito il riavvio dei servizi andrà in errore ma non ci preoccupiamo in quanto dobbiamo ancora rinnovare tutti i certificati

/usr/lib/vmware-vmca/bin/certificate-manager

scegliamo l’opzione 8 per rigenerare tutti i certificati

ci chiederà utente e password SSO, possiamo lasciare di default tutti i campi tranne

hostname va inserito l’FQDN completo del vcenter server

una volta terminato dovrebbe aver rigenerato tutti io certificati e avviato tutti i servizi con 100% completed

ora andiamo a controllare un certificato che non viene mai rinnovato e che si trova su vcenter 8, il data encipherment

eseguiamo i seguenti comandi per rinnovare il certificato

una volta finito dovrebbe aver rinnovato anche il data encipherment

ora abbiamo rinnovato tutti i certificati e ci rimane solo la pulizia del backup store con i certificati scaduti

creiamo e modifichiamo lo script per la pulizia
